The Recyclables – an outreach of the Bay City Players
The senior reader’s theatre troupe of the Bay City Players is well known throughout the Tri-Cities of Michigan for their highly entertaining performances. This troupe has become a regular of Senior Centers and Civic Groups in Saginaw, Midland and Bay City. They do not charge for their performances but do accept donations for the Bay City Players. They have won honors for an adjudicated performance at CTAM and traveled to Niles, Michigan to help the Niles Community Library establish a troupe there. They have also assisted troupes from Maine to California to begin their Senior Reader’s theatre troupes.
Averaging 40 performances per season they are always in demand and looking for Seniors (“Recyclables”) who would like to join them. The Recyclables meet each Tuesday morning at the theater to rehearse. They have performed for conventions in Frankenmuth, Flint, Saginaw, Midland and Bay City-Essexville. They are also noted for their Christmas “Gift to the Community” a free presentation at Christmas time that is always eagerly anticipated.
Anyone who would like to schedule them for a performance or to join them as a member is asked to call the theater at 989-893-5555 for more information.
